The examination of Elizabeth Lake wife to Edward Lake of Dublin Alderman taken the xijth of Nouember 1641
<H> The examinate saith that in July last shee beeing then with her husband at a supper in Fleetestreete at the house of one Mr Thomas Hicks there was supped with them at that time one Doctor Moore a Phisitian who then asked this examinate why sheuld would not liue in England To which she answered that the reason was because her dwelling and meanes <J:> were in Ireland, then the Doctor replyed That he thought it were better for her to Live among her frends in England where she was well beloved then to Live in Ireland where if the Papists were as hardly dealt with all as they were in England it is L ikely there would be cutting of throates or some troubles er it were long.
