The Examinacion of Bartholomew Lemman of St Johns lane Dublin Taylor taken before me Sir Richard Bolton Knight Lord Chancellor of Ireland the 17th day of November 1641.
<B> This Examinant beeing duly sworne & examined upon his oath saith that that upon a Monday after the descouery of the conspiracy to haue taken the Castle of Dublin which he thinketh it was Monday last was fortnight Hee this Examinant & one William Cox a Maltster dwelling in Newstreete in the Suburbs of Dublin came into the howse of one Savage a Baker in Castlestreete where they found the said Baker, & his wife & one Casy the said Bakers seruant and George Hackett drinking together at which time the said George Hacket drew out a litle booke which this Examinant thinketh was an Almanacke and there he reade the names of [ ] divers persons which the said Hackett said were the principall <C> Rebells whereupon this Examinant said he hoped to see an end of those Rebells shortly or words to that effect whereunto the said Hackett replyed that the King of England had the greatest hand in this Rebellion And thereupon this Examinant went out to seeke for a Constable to apprehend the said Hackett and but before the said t this Examinant returned the said Hackett <D> was gone from that howse And shortly after this Examinant mett with the said Hackett in Fishamble streete and came with him to St Johns lane and priuately calling for a Constable the said Hackett ranne away & gott into a howse in Cookestreete were he was apprehended by this Examinant & others more he saith saith not
