Edward Edmonds servant vnto the Right Honorable the lord moore sworne & examined
sayth that he was at leslip in the Howse of Sir Nicholas whyte knight at the tyme when mr Giffery a protestant & inhabitant of the sayd Towne [ ] had his Howse rifled & his goods takeen awaye by the Rebells whoe committed the sayd Robbery aboute Nyne of the clock in the morneing the number of the sayd Rebells being as the examinat conceiveth being about si threescore & [ ] armed onelie with shorte pikes & pitchforkes & onely one muskitteer whoe stood at the sayd Gefferyes howse doore whylst the House was a rifleing & after all was done the sayd musketeer did in this examinats view Comm with match in cock comm vnto the Castle or Howse of Sir Nicholas Whyte and knockt at the doore wherevpon Sir Nicholas Whyte went out vnto the sayd Rebell & had speech with him & at the sayd Sir

Sir Nicholas comming back in to the Howse he herd the sayd sir Nicholas saye that the sayd Rebell demaunded from him carriadge to convey awaye the sayd Gefferyes [ ] Corne & further sayth that he her d the sayd sir Nicholas saye at the tyme when the sayd Robbery was Committed he herd the sayd sir Nicholas whyte saye that he could kill the sayd Rebells & driue them all out of the towne but that he doubted that soe he might provoke them to besett his owne Howse And the sayd examinate alsoe sayth that at this present ther dwells in the Howse of the sayd sir Nicholas one ffather ffoorde a fryer whoe tearmes himselfe prior of Drogheda whoe hath daylie frequent resort to vnto the Rebells & daylie rydes out to meet with them vppon one [ ] some tymes one waye & sometymes an other waye he sayth that he the sayd ffoorde hath much privacie with the sayd sir Nicholas [ ] the sayd ffoord is in his iudgement an ill affect ed
