The Informacion of John Ryves Gent taken before mee Sir William Ryves knight one of the Judges of his Maiesties Court of cheife place this 19th day of Aprill 1641
<G> Whoe being duely sworne vppon the holy Euangelist & examined saieth vppon his oath that vppon thirsday last the 14th day of Aprill the Army resting at Athye all that day the Examinant amonge diuers others of the Army went downe by the side of the Barragh to Looke vppon the Ennemy that Lay encamped neere vnto Tanckardstowne in the Queenes County and hee heard Captayne <John> Welden that had the comaund of one of the six Companyes that went to Drogheda seig pointing <with> his hand ouer the water say towards the Rebells <H> say yonder is Robert Harpoole for that he e I knowe him by his Spanniells and therevppon called vnto him sayinge hee cryed out Robinert Harpoole Robinert Harpoole come hether and I will shew you thee A Covye of Partridges but it was at such a distance that this Examinant could not perfected discerne his face but verily & heard diuers others say at Ath y that Robert Hapoole was amonge the Rebells.
