The examinacion of James Peirce of Ballell gent aged forty yeares taken vpon oath on the behalfe of the Comonwealth Concerning Nicholas Stafford of Balligillane yeoman deceased
<To the 1st Inter> The Examinant Deposeth & saith that the said Nicholas dwelte at Balligillane in the County of Wexford the first year <s> & the whole time of the rebellyon and did not thence remooue into the english quarters as he might haue done as well as the english & Protestants dwelling neere him the said James Nicholas Stafford His cause of knowledge is for that the deponent was his nigh neighbour
<To the 2d inter> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 3d inter> The deponent saith that the deponent in the time that he was collector of the publicque taxes in the peere of Kil[ ] <To the 3d inter> Hee Cannot depose
<To the 4th inter> The deponent saith that he hath seen the said Nicholas in Armes eyther with a fire locke or a musquet at the bankes of Kilrane Among the Irish there <t> gathered and in Armes in order to oppose the english & from landing out of their shipps which the examinant Conceiueth to bee about the seacond or third yeare of the Rebellyon
