The Examinacion of Hugh รด Gowen of Cloncatt in the County of Meath aged aboute seaventy, being duely sworne & examined the Day and yeare aforesaid
By vertue of his Oath, sayeth That hee hath & doth know Cohonaught o Gowen within
[ ] yeares, or thereabouts & that he [ ] kne w that he the said Cohonaght killed the wife of John Hovy of Crumlin in the County of Kavan otherwise that then that one Phillip <non stet> Brady the Informante did say That the said Cohanaght O Gowen killed an English woman & further sayeth , That the said Phillip Brady bade bidd this Deponent, That to obtaine a Certific ate from the said Cohonoght o Gowen, thereby vndertaking not to prosecute or giue Evidence against one Leiut Collonell Owen mcDaniell [ Gred oma ? ] Brady, now prisoner in Dublin; & that then the said Phillip Brady the Informant would forbeare prosecuting the said Cohanaght o Gowen. And further hee deposeth not
