Capt Mils Burke Confesseth that he with the Rest of the Cuntry was in the protection of the state and A Commissioner off Applottment; neare about Midsomer last was twelue monthes & afterwards kept the Castle of Moyla for the Irish till hi s owne vse till by A Capitilation he surrendered it to Capt Morgan for the stats vse & alsoe Confesseth that he kept the said Castle with thirty or forty of his tennants & followers & paid them with his owne Charge & that he accted by his owne power and Not any Comition and that he hanged one of Major Burkes men for Endevoring to surprise the said Castle as he thought for the Vse of the State
