The examination of John fitz Gerrald.
whoe beinge examined saith that he was one of the Lord of Clanmoris his party of horse when sargeant Rouleright with some other Englismen that were comeinge from the fort of <A> Gallway were taken prisoners neere Oranmore, And he saith he saith he remembreth besides himselfe, to be of the said troupe, James Hauerty of Ardrahan, John mc shida mantagh, whoe nowe as he remembers liueth in Tuamond, william fitz Edmund Dorogha whoe nowe liueth in Killculy beinge one of Collonell Rickard Burkes his seruantes, and was then seruant to the Lord of Clanmoris, and Edmund Burk mc Henry roe whoe was then a horseman in the said Lords troupe, Redmond roe Dolphin whoe liueth neere Loghreogh, and Collonell Thomas Burk of Killcorna{ } and aboute fiue or six more whose names he remembreth not, This examinant saith he was not at the apprehendinge of the said prisoners because his horse was not able to Keepe the rest company, but mett with the said party and prisoners returneinge <B> from Oranmore, and Collonell Burk in theire company whoe went alonge with them to Clarinbridge where the said sargeant and souldiers were hanged, this examinant further saith that he heard that there was taken in a Boate neere Killcolgan fiue or six English men, by some of Collonell Burkes men as he heard (by heardsay) and afterwards were brought to Atthunry and there hanged, And further saith not.
