the examjnation of William mc ilduffe of glanevy who sayethe
That in the begining of the warrs near hamiltons bane, he did hear neal mothir o neill mc hughe brother to art o cogie call wpon on William trummbell being a smithe, to shoee his horse, who comming out said wnto neal good morow. Wherwpon presently the said neall mother, & another who was in his company did draw their swords against William Trummbell, who did runne into his owen shop, & those two men folowed him in, & ther{e} he was presently killed, neither did the deponent see any o{ther} goe {in} after him into the shop but only those two, & he fu{rther} sayes that after they had soe killed him they took horse { } went away, and th he further sayes that he himself did g{oe} presently into the shop & did see the said William Trunbell lie { } Wounded withe 3 or 4 stabs. the deponent also sayes that { } did hear a whill agoe that the said neal muther o neil d{id} live near lochbriklan & further he sayethe not
