The Examinacion of William Codd neere the white house in the County of Antrem: aged sixty yeares taken before <symbol> vs the 3d of June 1653
beinge sworne and Examined saith, that he was [ ] present when then Condicions: was made, with by Sir William Brownlowe, for himself and the Inglish that was in his house, with Artt oge mc Glasny Magneisse Edmond boy mc Glasney Magneisse: the mc Canns, and manie others, the day after the towne of lurgan was burnt, beinge the fi r st second of November or ther abouts; and this Examinat saith that the Condicions which the Irish aforesaid then promist, was that that the Inglish should haue a safe Convoy, to goe to lisnegarvey; and those that had a minde to goe to there owne houses, should dwell safely there but this Examinat saith, that the Irish assoone as they entred the said Sir william Brownlowes house, fell to stripp and beat downe the Inglish and Amongst the said Irish this Examinant saw one Owen Roe mc Keene come into Sir William Browlowes house then; and this Examinat seeinge th{e} Cruelty of the Irish, Contrary to ther Condicions, ffledd towards Lisnegarvey; and at that very instant this Examinat saw one Mr Giles whitehead whoe was in Sir Will iam Brownlows house when it was yeelded murtherd neere Sir william Brownlowes house when aboute one houre after Sir williams house was yeelded, where this Examinat with his wife & Children was stript Naked. And further this Examinat saith, that he goeing neere Sir william Brownlowes Mill the sam{e} instant, saw about three or foure scoore litle Children lying stickinge and lyinge in the Myre, wher this Examinat veryly beleeues they all perrished: And further saith, that aboute ten of the Clocke of the same day, he beinge in lurgan as a pledg{e} with the Irish, saw the bodyes of John Davis & Tho: Warde lyinge murthred in ther blood; And further saith not
