The Examinacion of Edward Cleark of Dromlee in Com: of Downe gent adged twenty eigh{t} yeares or there abouts taken before vs at Carrickfergus the 8th of June 1653
This Examinatt beinge duelye sworne sayeth that about Christmass in 1641 hee heard that Lyeutenant Hugh Treuor, Mr Tuich, Mr John Weston, with seuerall other prisoners were Conveyed from Newry <A> through Moorne to Neew Castle, the examinatt heeringe his brother Thomas Clerk whoe was in a freunds howse be name Edmond oge magneise was sent alsoe to the said Neew Castle went as [ ] Imediatly thither & remaininge there all night could not meete his brother there, but the next morninge did see the said Lyeutenant Treuor, Mr Tuich, Mr John Weston and other prisoners brought out of a barne neere Neew Castle, by one Hugh mc Ginn, Conn magneiss, Conn o donnell, with seuerall others in their Companye and Conveyed them a mile from the Castle where they deuided the said prisoners in two halfes, the said Hugh mc Ginn, tooke awaye the said Lyeutenant Treuor, Mr Tuich, John Weston with the Number of six more, and marched towards the Pace of Dundrum; further sayeth that hee sawe them strip [ ting ] of the said prisoners, and did alsoe see them streevinge about the said John Westons skarlett Cloake, further sayeth that he sawe Con o donell & the rest of his Comarads

dreevinge ffrannces Symonds, James Sturgeon with others beinge his owne Neighbours vpp a riuer side towards Dundrom pace, further sayeth that one Roury o morgan, Came to the Examinatt and desired him to Come alonge with him and would bring him where his brother Thomas Clerk was at Edmund oge Magneiss howse and afterward as the Examinatt, and Roury o Morgan, were marchinge hard by the said Pace of Dundrum, heard a Crye, and inquired of the said Roury what Crye it might bee, the said Roury answered and said saied, that it was the prisoners hee sawe a Conveyinge that were a killinge and a hanging by those that did Convey them; further sayeth not
