The examinacion of Patricke Kinge of the Newry of the aige of 40 yeares taken the 4th of June 1653 at Carickferg:
Who beinge duly examined & sworne saith that in the begininge of the Warrs he liued in the Newry & that Captain Pattricke O R[ oo nie] Treuor haueinge imployed a messenger called Bryan O Roonie from Drogheda to Sir Edw: Treuor, & others with Letters, was taken by the Irish Guard in the Newry, & caried with his letters before Coll Plunkett, Tirlo Oge O Neile brother to Sir Phil: O Neile, & Hugh boy mc Conell & other Irish gent: then there, amongst whom was Donnell Maginis now in Prison.
Who haueing taken the Letters from the said O Roonie, caused him to be examined, & pretendinge him to be a spy caused him to be hanged And as for Leuitenant Treuor & a man that was a Dyer he cannot say any thinge, & further saith not
