The Examinacion of John ffulton Aged about 36 yeares being duely sworne
Saith That presently after the begining of the Rebellion the morneing before the fight at Lysnegarvye, this examinante was goeing with his father & some of his neighbours to the howse of Mr Mich Donne, To see if they could gett againe the Cattell that was about 8 dayes before taken from them by the sarvants And Tennants of Mr Mich Donne, & Mr Humphry Sexton <A> but Coming with in a quarter of a mile of the howse or thereabouts, They mett a party of the Irish in a warlike manner, a great many of them being the Tennants of Mich Donne, & Humph: Sexton (which this Examinante knew verry well) A & there stayd a while & had some discoorse with them about the Cowes that had beene taken from them, but dureing there discoorse, there came from Mich. Donnes howse, Turlo ô Beaglin, One of his Groomes, & Cane ô Hare his Baley, Vpon two of Mr Donnes Owne horses, with some ffoote following of them And immediately after there Coming, Turlo ô Beaglin & Cane ô Hare, after some short speech with the Irish with whom this Examinante [ ] & his Neighbours was talkeing with, they said Turlo ô Beaghlin & Cane ô Hare with the Irish with them, fell vpon the Examinante & his Neighbours & slew about 13 or 14 in the place amongst which Number this Examinantes father was one And more was slane in the pursuite by Turlo ô Beaghlin & Cane ô Hare, being both on horsebacke pursued your verry hotly And further he saith not
