The Informacion of Edward Bell taken by me the fift May 1653
Who sayeth that Brjan boy Magee and his brother Hugh A{} Coming with ther Creats to Carrickfergus to be seltered ab{out} eight of Januar: 1641 coming thorow Bellaclare, this Dep{onent} put all that belonged to them into a Barne, both men, women <A> thincking to seacure them butt Capten McNilly who now is Dead) Came with a party of hor{se } aforesaid Town, & killed the number of 80: or 90: persons of th{ } & of their followers, all this the Deponant is reddey to Depos{e} before the high Court of Justice or any other Iudicatory { } is Called of whose party he Knoweth non of them a Luie{ } Ensigne Ruan, & John Brown who were Dwellers in the {towne} att that tyme, & Knoweth nott where they Dwell & further sa{ieth not} At horn

A Recognizance taken before me Rob{ert } vse of the Parliament of the Comonwealth the vndernamed persone

The Condicion of the aboue bounden Recognizance is su{ } Bell shall make his personall his Appearance the m{} Day of this Instant Munth at Carrickfergus townhall befo{re t}he High Courtt of Justice, & giue in what Euidence Can in th{e b}ehalfe of the Comon=wealth of England against Ensigne {Ru}an & John Ruan, & nott to Depart them without withou lye{cence}
