The Examinacion of John Ellott of Kilvlta in Com Antrim aged 30 yeares or therabouts taken this 3d May 1653:
Whoe being in Donnganon at the begining of this <A> Rebellion was prisoner with the Irish at that time & one Randell garue mcDonel being then Gouernor of Doonganon, sent Mr Bly ffrancis Sparkes <Randell Garve McDonel> Robert Gurly Mr Chiuers, & others whose names he does not remember, with a partie of his companie out of the towne, which party but murdred the aboue named persons within a mile of the said Towne, & this Examinante after they returned; heard them tell that they murdred the aboue men & further saith that he knew one of the soldiers named Gilaspuck Mcffargineglue; but doth not remember any other that he heard confess the said murder & further saith not; being demanded if he knew of any protestants killed at that times saith that Pat: Moderre o Donelly was sending one Hugh Allen, from Castle Caulfield to Toom; <Patt: moder o Loghran> Pat: Moderre o Loghran meeting him by the way killed him, & saith that he heard amongt them that Pat: Moderre o Donelly heering of it, sent for the said Pat: Loghran; but could find him; by reason that he afterwards fled away;
