William Willson of the Isle of Magee [ ] aged 50 yeares or there abouts being duely sworne and examined before vs this 1th day of June 1653
Sayth that on the Sabbath day in the evening being the day that the massacre was comitted in the Island of McGee he this deponent [ ] with his family tooke boate and went over into Scotland. where the next tuesday following he heard the newes of the sayd massacre committed in the said Island of Magee and that he this examinant heard that one John fferry which came over the sayd newes (or much about that that tyme) did reporte that he killed 8 or nine persons with in the sayd Island with his owne hand. and that seaven weekes after this examinant retorning from Scotland into the sayd Isle of McGee he heard that Robert Glasgow murdered Teig O Sheale and being asked who told this depon examinat the same he sayth he doeth not remember. and being further demaunded whether at his goeing into Scotland he had any intelligence of any intencions that there was such a massacre intended he sayth he never had the least intymacion of it till after it past; and further sayth not.
