The examination & depositione of Margrett Lowrye alias Hunter of [] of aboute 30 years, of Iland Magee who being sworne before vs saith this 30 Apr: 1653 saith
That Joane Mulchreeve, Meave Magee and Hugh Magee came to this deponents for shelter to saue their lives vppon a sunday towards the latter end of {December} after the warr begane, and this deponent did receave them and perse{vere} till tuesday after, at which tyme the said Joane haueing receaved former{ly} the said sunday a wounde on hir brest, and alsoe more wou{nds} she dyed on the tuesday mentioned, severale troopers & othe{rs} { } att the tyme but from whom or by whome she was slayne, s{he} { } <A> onlye their was one in that company caled Tho: Russell { } a boy called Torlagh Magee who was then slaine, but whethe{r} { } shot, or not this deponent knoweth not, but as one Jannett { } hir, who is now deade; And as for Meave Magee and H{ugh Magee} they went away from this deponents howse on the tuesday at { } and as she heard they weare kild, but by whom this deponent { } not, but their was an adged woman at that tyme killed (or{} deponent hid vnder straw to preserve), by one Sandye McAllester, { } more saith not but & this deponent saith that she saw Sandy McAl{lester} strike hir on the heade with a naked sword, but knoweth not whether she d{ied} of that stroke, or not, but she dyed presentlye after within one houre & more saith not
